I'm such a twit...

I didn't think I'd ever see the day, but because of that "thing I applied for" (more on that later) I had to get a Twitter account, and as luck would have it, @SilasBarta was available and I took it.

So you can be reassured that @SilasBarta isn't some dastardly soul trying to impersonate me.

(I was going to make another remark about having made this post purely through the keyboard, but Twitter ruined it ... some of their clickable buttons can't be recognized by Pentadactyl, the Firefox extension that tries to let you do everything from the keyboard but gets stymied by by poor web design.)

You little tech bitch!

I am kidding, of course. However, I am curious as to what you main activity will be on Twitter. Are you going to be telling us when you're having a drink, shit, shave, drive, stand in line, buying something new, bored out of your mind, etc, etc? Or are your going to be mostly reactionary to events occurring in the environment around you, most specifically political economy?

Mostly, I'll just use it as needed for the course. I don't plan to make it an extension of this austerely-updated blog.

I guess that I will have to wait for the update on what that "thing" is that you applied for.

Yes, perhaps I should stop putting that off.

Well, I guess I can point to it at least: I'm going to the Feb-March cohort of this.

Ah! That definitely seems like something that is right up your ally.

I myself am pretty good when it comes to software and networking. However, I am primarily trained in the hardware area of computing. Essentially, I can design and build circuits from scratch (well, almost from scratch) and I can trouble-shoot and repair anything down to the micro level. It has been years since I built anything, and most of those were audio processing and amplifier circuits (pre-amps, equalizers, compressors, limiters, guitar amps, MIDI controllers, digital effects processors, etc). It's all basically the same thing, getting electrons to do your bidding.

Yeah, it's a bit different than web design and applications, that's for sure-- I don't know a damned thing about that.
